December 24th:

A Merry Christmas to one and all!

As I am still very far behind with the post production work on the weddings already filmed, I am still not marketing for, nor accepting future wedding film productions.

This year, I am having what I consider to be my "Ebenezer Scrooge" Christmas: While my wife has gone to Germany to spend Christmas with her family, I have elected to stay here and spend the holidays editing my Clients' Wedding Films, as the best present I can give them and myself is to get their Wedding Films completed ASAP.  I am editing seven days a week, ten to twelve hours a day and will continue to until everybody has their films.

The good news is, all the technical problems I encountered this past year with my Editing System have been solved.  Upgrades have been made to the systems's hardware, and most importantly, the source of most all the troubles has been located and resolved.  It seems a particularly nasty piece of almost undetectable Malware installed itself in the computer LAST APRIL.  This malware program installed other bits of malware from time to time each time the computer was connected to the internet (an internet connection is required by the Editing Software's anti-piracy measures to ensure that it is a legitimate version of the Software).  These other malware programs wreaked havoc with the system, damaging hard drives and creating problems with the Operating System.  The pattern that followed was that the system would fail, I would use antimalware programs to find the various malware programs causing the current acute failure,  and get the system back on line only to have that original bit of undetected malware reinstall new forms of malware again.

Finally, I enlisted the help of technicians from a company that specializes in this sort of thing (something that I should have done a long time ago).  Using their proprietary programs, the source malware that apparently had been causing the trouble since April 2012 was detected and eradicated.  And since that time several months ago, I haven't had a single problem (knock on wood...).

I anticipate having all the editing backlog completed and all current Wedding Films delivered by the end of April, and at that time, we will begin accepting new wedding assignments, but from then on with a strict limit of 25 weddings per year, as it takes me about two normal work weeks to edit each production to the level of quality that I adhere to.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to my current clients for their almost infinite patience!!!

Sincerely,

John Kevin

John Kevin Films: We love creating Wedding Films. Couples love the Wedding Films we create!

John Kevin Films has been creating the finest Wedding and Special Event Films since 1982.  All of our Wedding Films are shot, edited and delivered in full High Definition on Blu-ray™ Disk.  We pride ourselves in being extremely discreet while filming your once-in-a-lifetime event and then creating a cinemagraphic masterpiece you will treasure for the rest of your lives.  That huge camera in the picture of me to the left is gone now (and thankfully, so is the moustache!).  The cameras we are currently using are far more discreet, being less than a third the size of that top-of-the-line camera from the '90's, yet producing images with more than four times the clarity and sharpness!

Portfolio

This webpage is fairly new (my friends and associates have been trying to convince me for years that I need a Webpage - finally I have been convinced).  Rather then just trying to put "my very best" out there, I'm going to post my most recent work or even works in progress to this area so you can see a realistic impression of what I offer.  To view these videos in High Definition please click on the screen which should open up a YouTube window, where you can select 780p or 1080p (but afterward, come right back here!).  And please do call me and I'll be happy to arrange a personal screening of our past work, including both highlights from Wedding Films and actual full length Wedding Films for you to view - either at one of our two Chicago locations or in your own home or office.
